Home Sports Women’s Tennis Blanks Friends University

After failing to defeat Kansas Wesleyan yesterday, the Concordia women’s tennis team responded with a dominating 9-0 win to improve to 2-9 on the year.

In doubles competition the Bulldogs swept Friends with scores of 8-4, 8-2 and 8-5. Sophomore Annie Horn and freshman Katelinn Wurm teamed up for the No. 1 spot while sophomores Alison Ebel and Hannah Boe, and freshman Kayla Smock and sophomore Katie Hertz filled the No. 2 and 3 spots respectively.

For singles play the Bulldogs had no problem going 6-0. Every Bulldog player won in straight sets.

The top three spots outscored their opponents a combined 36-2 while the bottom three spots out totaled Friends 37-11.

In order from No. 1 to No.6 spots for singles play were: Horn, Wurm, Ebel, Boe, Smock and Hertz.

Concordia will finish up their spring break road trip when they take on Seminole State College at 2 p.m. on Friday.
