Women’s Soccer Sees First Defeat, Bounces Back with Win against Friends University

For the Concordia women’s soccer team, the week went from low to high in a heartbeat. The Bulldogs took a heartbreaking loss to Bellevue University (2-1) on Tuesday, Sept. 11 but came back in a win against Friends University (Kansas) on Saturday, Sept 16.
After being up 2-1 on Tuesday, Bellevue came back to hand the Bulldogs their first loss of the season. The final score of the game was 3-4.
However, on Saturday, the Bulldogs traveled to Wichita, Kansas, to score a win over Friends University to earn their first shutout of the year. Junior Becky Freeman scored early in the game to post a 1-0 lead, which the team kept for the duration of the game.
The Bulldogs are now 2-1-2 and will play the College of Saint Mary (0-6-1) in a conference game, on Monday, Sept. 19 at Concordia. The game will be played at 7 p.m.
