Women’s Soccer Gets Bounce Back Win Over College of Saint Mary

The women’s soccer team beat the College of Saint Mary on Wednesday 1-0 to get back in the win column after a tough loss to Jamestown on Oct. 9.
The Bulldogs put pressure on Saint Mary throughout the game by getting 14 shots with 11 of them on goal. Junior Mikeila Martinez had the game-winning goal in the 50 minute of the game while also recording four shots with three of them on goal to lead her team in all categories.
Junior Madeline Haugen helped the Bulldogs as she got the assist for the goal as well as recording three shots of her own with two of them being on goal. Sophomore Lina Kirst had three shots as well with two of them being on goal.
The defense also did their part as they held Saint Mary to seven shots with four of them on goal. Junior goalie Kalie Ward had three saves and got help from her defense as they recorded a save of their own.
The Bulldogs now sit third in the GPAC and are 7-4-2, 4-2-2 GPAC. The Bulldogs will travel to Hastings next to play Hastings College on Oct. 16 with kickoff starting at 5:30 p.m.
