The Concordia women’s soccer team lost a 1-0 defensive battle at Bulldog Stadium against the University of Jamestown on Saturday night. Concordia only managed five shots on goal compared to Jamestown’s 12.
Saturday’s game was a struggle for control of the ball. Jamestown scored their goal in the 15th minute of the contest with a header to finish off a well placed pass. Neither team was able to find the back of the net for the rest of the game.
Coach Thomas Goines spoke about the team’s performance and their opponent, saying, “I thought the girls played well against a very good opponent. Jamestown is arguably one of the best teams we’ve seen all year.”
Goines then talked about moving on to the next opponent, saying, “They just have to keep believing in what they’re doing and focus on the next one.”
Concordia’s record for the season is now 7-3-2 and 2-3-2 in Great Plains Athletic Conference play. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Wednesday in Omaha against the College of Saint Mary.
