Women’s Basketball Continues to Semifinals of Nationals

Concordia women’s basketball advanced to the semifinal round of the NAIA DII national tournament on Saturday when the team defeated Jamestown University (North Dakota) 74-59.
Sophomore Quinn Wragge had a 16 point, nine rebound performance which spurred the Bulldogs to a 15 point victory.
The Bulldogs defeated fifth seeded Cardinal Stritch University on Friday to advance to the semifinals. Throughout the match the Bulldogs only managed to force 16 turnovers, well below their average of 25 per game from the opponent but the Bulldogs finished with 46 rebounds in comparison to the Jimmie’s 34.
Jamestown guard McKayla Orr lead the way for the Jimmies with 21 points, but Concordia held the team to just 30 percent from the field over the course of the game.
With the win, the Bulldogs now are potentially two wins away from being crowned 2016/17 National Champions. Concordia has a quick turn around as they take on No. 1 Saint Xavier at Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
