Women Bulldogs Defeat Tigers in 20-Point Spread

No.14 ranked Concordia women’s basketball team took on the Doane University Tigers inside George and Sally Haddix Recreation and Athletic Center on Tuesday, Nov. 22 and won 77-56.
Junior guard and Lincoln native Dani Andersen saw success from the three-point arc, connecting on four of eight of her attempts giving her 12 points for the night. Anderson also finished with four assists for the game.
The Bulldogs coming into the match were 6-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play. The Tigers came into the game with a with a 4-3 overall record and were 1-0 in GPAC play.
Coach Drew Olson’s defensive zones and traps were instrumental in outscoring the Tigers by 21 points and forcing them to shoot 18-49 from the field. Freshman forward Philomena Lammers finished with a 15 points and three blocks on 7-9 from the field.
Doane Tigers forward Morgan Hill was tough to stop inside with 18 points and eight boards, but the Bulldogs defensive traps forced 39 turnovers from the Tigers.
The Bulldogs have a few days downtime for Thanksgiving before they travel to Bellevue to compete in the Bellevue University Classic with their first game against No. 25 Haskell Indian Nations. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. Friday, Nov 25 on the campus of Bellevue University.
