If you missed Concordia University Nebraska sports this weekend, here is what happened.
The Concordia cross country team began their season with the Augustana Twilight Meet in Sioux Falls, S.D. on Sept. 6. The lone night race went well for the Bulldogs with the No. 20 women finishing seventh overall and the men finishing eighth overall. The women finished with 240 team points led by senior Hannah Beintema who placed 57th with a 5k time of 18:58.33. Junior Keegan Beisel finished just behind her with a 18:59.89. The men finished with 249 points and were led by sophomore Trey Robertson with a four-mile time of 19:22.17 placing 29th. The team next competes at the Greeno/Dickson Invite in Lincoln on Sept. 21.
Concordia men’s soccer finished with their third tie of the season going 1-1 against the Grand View University Vikings in Des Moines, Iowa on Sept. 7. Sophomore Michael Wyvill was the lone Bulldog on the board with a goal in the 18’. Senior Gabriel Mendoza was the goalie for the game with six saves and one goal allowed. The record now stands at 1-1-3 as the team prepares to compete against Benedictine College on Sept. 11 in Seward.
Concordia men’s golf finished up the Blue River Classic co-host invite with Doane University with an eighth-place finish of 303-299-300–902. Sophomore Jacob Dowd led the team tying for 27th with a score card of 79-72-72–223. Junior Brock Rogers was just two strokes behind and tied for 35th with a card of 73-76-76–225. The team next competes at the Siouxland Invite on Sept. 9-10 in Sioux Center, Iowa.
