If you missed Concordia University Nebraska sports this week, here is what happened.
The Concordia shooting team won first at the Hastings College Bronco Invitational that went from Oct. 5-6. The team previously won the title in 2021. The team shot 1,773 targets and finished 18 points ahead of Iowa Western Community College. Senior Bryer Meeks had the highest overall score of 364 with an 85 in sporting, 89 in super sporting, 93 in trap and 97 in skeet. Meeks was also Male Highest Overall at the meet. Junior Kaylee Hinton, meanwhile, won the Female HOA award with a score of 334.
Meeks also won HOA in sporting, and Hinton’s 81 in super sporting netted her an event HOA. Junior Katie Welker won HOA in trap with 97 points. Concordia as a team won first in skeet with a 483/500 and sporting clays with a 401/500 as well. The team gets a bit of a break before returning to competition at the end of the month for the Southeast CC-Beatrice Bobcat Invitational in Lincoln from Oct. 26-27.
