If you missed Concordia University Nebraska athletics this weekend, here is what happened.
The Concordia women’s tennis team played a non-conference dual against the Mount Marty University Lancers on Feb. 13 sweeping them 7-0. The team is now 2-1 on the season and faces Ottawa University next on Feb. 20.
The women swept the doubles point handedly going 6-2 in the No. 1, 6-3 in the No. 2 and 6-3 in the No. 3. All the singles matches were won in two sets with the most competitive being the No. 3 match between junior Alana Lopez Pagan and Lancer Maria Luisa going 6-4, 6-4.
The Concordia men’s tennis team also faced the Lancers and won 5-2 to put them at a 2-2 record. They also face Ottawa University on Feb. 20.
The men lost the doubles point 2-1 with a win in the No. 1 match with juniors Hugo Fuentes and Nick Velders. The men had tough singles matches with almost everyone having a tiebreaker of some sort. However, their grit allowed the Bulldogs to claw their way to a win.
The Concordia cheer and dance teams traveled to Olathe, Kan. for the MidAmerica Nazarene University Duals. Dance was second overall with an 82.20 win in the first round and an 80.75 win in the second. Cheer was fifth overall with a 75.47 loss in the first round and a 77.15 win in the second. Their next meet is the Dordt University Invitational on Feb. 22 in Sioux Center, Iowa.
