Home News Seward Library Hosts Scavenger Hunt for Concordia Students

by Hope Moural

Seward Memorial Library hosted Search Around the Square, a scavenger hunt for Concordia students, on Saturday, Sept. 10.

“This was a library outreach for Concordia and a way for us to connect with the community,” event coordinator Sara Endorf said.

For the event, participants were given bingo sheets that listed businesses to go to and activities to complete around the town square.

“I hope that the students get out and see that there is a lot to do in Seward,” said Endorf. “I hope that they see all these pathways that we are offering them here and that it is all for (them).”

Activities included tagging a Seward hot spot in a Facebook post and getting cashiers’ initials from local stores. Students could also enter their names into a drawing for the chance to win prizes like gift cards and snacks.

According to Endor, the library hopes to have more events for students to get involved in.

“I’m really looking forward to connecting with the kids and seeing them get excited about Seward,” Endorf said.

She encourages Concordia students to visit the library and to take advantage of the free opportunities they offer such as owning a library card, movie rentals and meeting rooms for quiet study sessions.

“Students are welcome any time, even if it’s just to walk around and look at books,” Endorf said.

Students can see what other services Seward Memorial Library has to offer as well as a list of their upcoming events by visiting sewardlibrary.org.
