Concordia men’s tennis team fell to 7-9 on the year and 1-3 in GPAC play after dropping a 5-4 decision to Midland University.

The Bulldogs dropped two of the three doubles matches with the only win coming from the pair of freshman Willy Pardos and junior Javier Moreno, who won 8-3. Freshman Thomas Greeff and junior Patricio Esquivel teamed up for the No. 2 spot and fell 8-4. Freshman Gabriel Poling and junior Philip Yox filled the No. 3 spot and lost 8-6.

In singles play, Pardos, Moreno and Poling all won their matches. Pardos and Poling both won in straight sets. Pardos won 6-0 and 6-0 while Poling won 6-0 and 6-4. Moreno had a three-set victory by final scores of 6-2, 6-7 and 14-12. Greeff, Esquivel and Yox rounded out the singles play matches, but all lost. Greeff came the closest to winning, but fell in three sets 7-6, 1-6 and 10-6.

Concordia will take a step outside of conference play for a match against the University of Nebraska-Kearney on Wednesday, April 20. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
