Men’s Tennis Falls to No. 13 Bethany College
by Garrett Suchanek
One day after collecting its second win of the year, the Concordia men’s tennis team fell to 13th-ranked Bethany College.
The Bulldogs (2-4) gave the Swedes troubles in every match. In doubles competition, each match went at least 13 sets before deciding the winner. The Swedes claimed two of the three doubles matches, but Concordia’s team of juniors Patricio Esquivel and Philip Yox made sure the Bulldogs didn’t get swept. Esquivel and Yox won 8-6 as the No. 3 doubles team.
In singles competition, the Swedes went 6-0. Concordia’s closest match was when junior Javier Moreno lost in three sets 6-1, 3-6 and 6-3.
The Bulldogs will prepare for their next match on Friday, Feb. 19 in Lincoln against Southwestern College. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
