The Bulldogs beat the Grace University Royals 107-70 thanks to a second-half spurt on Wednesday night inside Walz Arena.
At halftime, the score was 44-43 in favor of the Royals. The lead had changed six times during the first half due to Grace’s quick offense and ability to put shots up.
Although the crowd wasn’t nearly as big or as intense as it was at CIT, the Bulldogs were able to drastically change their quality of play after halftime. The Bulldogs held the Royals to score just 26 points to the Bulldogs’ 64 in the second half. Concordia shot 57 percent after halftime.
Senior center Chandler Folkerts had a big night, scoring 24 points with 10 rebounds. Senior guard Eli Ziegler added 21 points and five assists. Freshman guard/forward Tanner Shuck scored 17 points, and freshman forward Clay Reimers scored a career high of 15 points coming off the bench.
After this win, the Bulldogs improved their record to 16-8. On Saturday, they will travel to Yankton, South Dakota, to face Mount Marty College for the second time this season for a 4 p.m. game. The last time the two met, the Bulldogs beat the Lancers 102-69.
