Home News CUNE’s Rotaract Club Hosts Community Halloween Pet Costume Contest

Concordia University’s Rotaract Club hosted a Community Halloween Pet Costume Contest on Sunday in Seward, awarding the Grand Prize to the dog Oreo and owner Ayda Metschke, with CUNE’s Amie Martin and her cat Princess Paisley named First Runner-up.

Rotaract Advisor the Rev. Russ Sommerfeld emceed the event. Judges were Rotaract members Aaron Everett, a sophomore from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, majoring in Exercise Science and Brynna Bruxellas, a third-year student from Falls City majoring in Geography.

Sponsors for the event were Suhr and Lichty Insurance Agency, Pet Source by Scouler, the Seward Alps Bark Park and the Seward Rotary Club.

A total of eight pets received medals. The other six were: Julya Metschke’s cat T Rex, Adalya Metschke’s guinea pig Chewy, Thomas Wake’s dog Twist, Grace and Addison Hick’s dog Clyde, Crystal Hollmann’s dog Meeka and Crystal Hollmann’s dog Willow.
