Cross-Country Debuts at Augustana
By Kenneth Paetow
The cross-country team started their season at the Augustana Twilight Meet Friday night where both CUNE teams placed within the top 10 of NAIA teams.
The women finished eighth out of 28 teams and first out of all NAIA teams. The men finished 20th and fifth out of NAIA teams.
Concordia had tough competition, however, most of its top runners finished with personal records and placement. Freshman Amy Martin finished in under 19 minutes, making her the top women’s runner for Concordia. The top men’s runner was freshman Camden Sensa who ran 21:03.
“I finished 14th and I was only two and a half minutes behind Cam so we had 15 guys close together which means we are all right there,” junior Cody Williams said.
Williams also mentioned he is looking forward to the bond between each teammate and competing at conference. With two months to grow and get stronger, the Bulldogs look tough to beat and their season is only starting.
