Concordia Volleyball Continues Winning Streak in Yankton

The Concordia volleyball team swept the Mount Marty Lancers 3-0 Wednesday night. The Bulldogs kept up a dominant week and a half of volleyball, adding a third consecutive sweep to their resume.
The Bulldogs came out on top in the first set. It was a hotly contested set that saw many lead changes, but Concordia won 25-23. The second set showed a much different pace, with Concordia coming out hot and winning the set 25-13. Concordia finished with another impressive performance, securing the sweep with a 25-16 victory in the third set.
Sophomore Gabby Nordaker led the Bulldogs with 13 kills. Freshman Ashley Keck and junior Cameron Opfer were right behind her with nine kills apiece. Junior Bree Burtwistle, who is the reigning National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and Great Plains Athletic Conference Setter of the Week, had another outstanding performance, leading the team in digs and assists with 13 and 39 respectively.
The Concordia Bulldogs volleyball team improves to 13-1 overall and 4-1 in the GPAC. They play again Sept. 24 against Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa.
