Concordia sophomore forward Noah Schutte scored 20 points and pulled down 9 rebounds while senior forward Gage Smith added a double-double — 10 points and 12 rebounds — to lead the Bulldogs to an 83-47 win over Midland in Great Plains Athletic Conference play Wednesday night.
Sophomore forward Tristan Smith had 11 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks for the Bulldogs, now 4-0, while sophomore guard Bradley Bennett and junior guard AJ Watson both finished with 9 points.
Junior forward Kelly Vyhnalek said that while the team is off to a great start, players know they have to stay focused. “I think we’ve had a really strong start to our season, but we need to keep our same mindset of taking one game at a time, and I think we’ve done a good job of that so far,” he said.
The Bulldogs face Dordt on Saturday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
