Friedrich Arena was packed Saturday as Concordia awarded bachelor’s and master’s degrees to more than 475 students.
“It’s sad to leave this time of life,” said graduate Devon Reitz. “I’m going to miss my friends.”
Reitz plans on participating in a mission trip in September. “I’m looking forward to life after college,” he said.
Deb Burma, a Christian author and speaker who received the Distinguished Service Award, gave the commencement address.
“None of us will find our true selves, our identity, on our own from the world or according to some self-fulfilling achievements,” said Burma. “Graduates, friends and family, our purpose, our true self, our very identity is found, fulfilled, and actualized in Christ Jesus our Savior.”
