Concordia baseball proved to be competitive so far in their spring break trip to Tucson, Arizona, for the Tucson Invitational as the team won four games in the first half of spring break.

The Bulldogs played their first games on Saturday against Grand View University and came out victorious in both games. The first score was 12-6, and the second 5-1. Junior Kaleb Geiger hit two home runs against Grand View.

On Sunday, the Bulldogs faced a more daunting opponent. The University of Jamestown is ranked 16th on the national scale and will be the newest member of the GPAC come the fall of 2017.

The Bulldogs split with Jamestown, losing the first game 5-3 and winning the second 4-1.

In the 4-1 win, several Bulldogs contributed to the comeback. Among these were senior Christian Montero, senior Jason Galeano and Geiger.

The relief pitchers, senior Nic Seaman, freshman Jason Munsch, junior Neil Ryan, junior Taylor Bickel and sophomore Tanner Wauhob, also stepped up.

Monday, the Bulldogs faced the University of Winnipeg, who are now 0-8 on their season. The Bulldogs broke the school record for most runs with 31. The final score ended at 31-8 with many Bulldogs seeing more action on the field.

Most of the starters used this game as an opportunity to rest in preparation for their next game on Wednesday.

On Wednesday the Bulldogs will face a NCAA Division II Malone University.
