The Bulldog dance and cheer teams competed in the Concordia Dance and Cheer Invite on Feb. 6 inside Friedrich Arena where both teams finished in second place behind Midland University.
This was a big step in the right direction as both teams finished in the middle of the pack last year in the Concordia Invite.
The dance team, led by head coach Mandi Maser, finished with a score of 71.26 making this the highest score of the season. Captains junior Haleigh Fitzsimmons and senior Michelle Porath led the Bulldogs as the team continues to get better as the year goes on.
The next performance for the dance team will be against Hastings College at halftime of the women’s basketball game on Feb. 10 inside Friedrich Arena.
The cheer team led by captains junior Josie O’Laughlin and senior Cora Rhode, also had a great performance with a score of 66.18, just 3.35 points behind first place Midland University.
The next performance for cheer will be a Triangular meet at home against Hastings and Puru State in the PE Center Gym at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 10. Fans are required to wear masks when attending the events.
