On Tuesday evening, Oct. 18, the Concordia men’s soccer team fell 0-1 to the Waldorf University Warriors in an overtime battle, which ended with a goal in the 97th minute by Waldorf midfielder Cristian Alvarez.
The Bulldogs played with a slightly different lineup, particularly in the back line, which included junior defender Luke Batters, senior defender Andrew Mussell, junior midfielder Dillon Hixson and junior defender Florian Caraballo.
The Bulldogs managed to find 16 shots against the Warriors’ 24 shots. Junior forward Marcelo Hernandez took eight shots, two of them on goal. Freshman forward Carlos Ferrer shone in the game by utilizing the outside midfield position, moving forward to create scoring opportunities.
The Bulldogs were unable to finish the chances created however, which gave the game a disappointing result for the team. The game was non-conference, so it did not affect the Bulldogs’ current standing as third in the GPAC.
