Bulldogs Continue Win Streak Over Flames

The No. 7-ranked women’s basketball team took on the College of Saint Mary Flames inside Walz Arena Wednesday night and won 95-56.
Gretna native and junior guard Mary Janovich had 16 points, converting 7-8 shots from the field. Her six assists in 21 minutes spurred the Bulldogs to the 39-point victory.
The Bulldogs came into the game with a 9-game winning streak, with their most recent victory over Saint Mary (Kan.) in the last day of the Bellevue Classic. The Flames came into the game with a with a 2-6 record.
“We just come focused each game and do what we have to do,” said Janovich. “It doesn’t matter the point difference, we play our game the entire time.”
Junior guard Dani Andersen also added 16 points for the Bulldogs. Freshman forward Philomena Lammers added 14 points and senior guard Devin Edwards and senior forward Aubri Bro each added nine points.
The Bulldogs now shift their focus to Saturday’s game against Dakota Wesleyan University who are ranked No. 1 in the country.
“We are going to watch film and study their offense and defense,” said Janovich. “We just need to come extremely focused to that game and control the game.”
The Bulldogs will take on Dakota Wesleyan University on Saturday, Dec. 3 inside Walz Arena. Tip-off is at 2 p.m.
