Opinion: It’s a weird first week

It’s a new year at Concordia, bringing renovations and changes from the physical campus to the digital realm that feel weird and different, and for some, the newness lies in Concordia itself.
“They changed the floor!” sophomore Emma Higgins had thought when she first entered the dining hall. “I think I liked it.”
Though the dining hall is continually seeing change, whether it be with the floor or the pizza, it still sees the continual trend of “kind of not right”.
“Every once and a while there’s something where it’s kind of not right,” said freshman Micah Heins when asked about Janzow food. “But overall, it’s good.”
Nora Betts said that she often met pizza that was simultaneously uncooked and burned.
Concordia has found it convenient to change the email system, but students may not agree with that adjective.
“They’re switching over all of our emails,” said junior Eden Lehr, “so I gotta figure that out!”
Despite the newness of Concordia, freshmen Heins and Sarah Murrey are “surviving.” They were asked about how they were doing so far and about their prospects of success.
“It’s been good so far,” said Heins. “Homework hasn’t been too bad; professors have been good; meeting a lot of people.”
“It’s been kind of hard,” said Murrey, but she said she survived. “I think it’ll be okay.”
