If you missed Concordia University Nebraska sports this weekend, here is what happened.
The Concordia wrestling team started off its season with the Simpson University Luther Hill Invite in Indianola, Iowa on Nov. 2. The team sent 18 athletes to the invite and had two first place titles from junior Bryce Karlin in the open 133 and senior Tommy Wentz in the open 165.
There were also eight second place finishes from junior Francisco Mendez in the open 157, senior Brent Ward in the open 165, senior Hunter Weimer in the open 184, senior Teegan Tschampel in the open 197, junior Steven Barnes in the fresh/soph 149, freshman Simon Arredondo in the fresh/soph 165, sophomore Barret Brandt in the fresh/soph 174 and junior Torrence Keehn in the fresh/soph 197. Senior Garret Moser tacked on a third place finish in the open 184.
The next event for new head coach Josh Watts is a dual against Midland University on Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. in Fremont.
