If you missed Concordia University Nebraska sports this week, here is what happened.
Concordia women’s soccer continued their winning streak with a 2-1 win over the Doane University Tigers on Oct. 16. Junior shooting duo Savannah Andrews and Kierstynn Garner scored the two goals for the Bulldogs. Andrews had hers in the 38th minute with an assist from senior Senna McMullen, and Garner shot hers in the 77th minute with an assist from junior Hannah Kile. Senior Angela Banks was the goalie for the game with six saves and one goal allowed. The team is now 7-5-1 overall and 4-3 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.
Concordia men’s soccer also faced Doane in Crete on Oct. 16 with a 3-0 shutout. Concordia shot their goals in the latter half of the game, with the first goal coming from senior Ryan Wokutch in the 73rd minute with an assist from sophomore Zahid Falcon. Senior Martin Herrera came in with the last two goals in the 83rd and 85th minutes. His second goal was assisted by sophomore Hugo Garrote. The goalie for the game was junior Nolan Fuelberth, who had one save and no goals allowed. The team is now 4-2-8 overall and 3-0-4 in the GPAC. The teams next play Waldorf University on Oct. 19 in Forest City, Iowa.
