On a cool afternoon in Sioux Center, Iowa, the Concordia Bulldogs football team used the ground game to run by Dordt College to win 34-21 and improve to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the GPAC.

The Bulldogs racked up 317 rush yards. Junior running back Bryce Collins led the team with 156 rush yards.

When Concordia got down into the red zone, the team utilized an effective passing attack and cashed in three touchdowns through the air.

Sophomore quarterback TJ Austin had a pair of touchdown passes along with a rushing touchdown. Senior quarterback Garrett Folchert also passed for one touchdown.

The Bulldog defense only allowed 227 yards after giving up an opening play touchdown of 70 yards.

Concordia had no pressure from Dordt after the Bulldogs took a 24-14 lead in the first half.

Dordt tacked on a late touchdown in the fourth quarter, but had no impact on the outcome of the game.

Concordia hosts Nebraska Wesleyan for homecoming next week at 1 p.m. on Oct. 10.
