Bulldogs Fall Short in Last Game of the Home Season
The Concordia volleyball team fell in three sets against the No. 2 Hastings College Broncos on Nov. 2 in the final game of their regular home season.
Senior outside hitter Paige Getz led the attack for the Bulldogs with 19 kills, but it was not enough to stop Hastings’s offensive attack.
“We definitely had the mindset that there was nothing to lose going into the game,” Getz said. “I think for the second set we thought they were just going to give it to us, so we didn’t fight as hard for that one.”
The Bulldogs coming into the match were 14-16 overall and 5-8 in GPAC play. The Broncos came into the game with a 22-2 overall record and a 13-1 record throughout conference play.
“For the last two games we are just gonna go and enjoy playing together two more times and come back with a couple of wins.” Getz said.
The Bulldogs will travel to Yankton, South Dakota, on Friday to take on Mount Marty College on at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 4. Mount Marty has a record of 7-22 overall and are 0-15 in the GPAC.
